11 Cute Cottagecore Winter Outfit Ideas
Hi everyone! With the chilly season upon us, I wanted to share with you some cottagecore inspired winter outfits. Follow along to see all of my favorite pieces to wear as the weather gets cooler.
Look 1. The wool mini-skirt
Here, I’ve layered a wool-blend skirt with a thin, knit cotton sweater and my favorite scarf. I’ve also added white tights and brown leather oxfords.
Here you can see a bit more of the details in the skirt:
Look 2. The hidden, puff-sleeve dress
Here, I’ve layered a wool blend skirt on top of a light, cotton, puff-sleeve dress.
This is a great way to keep using your spring and summer dresses even when the weather gets colder.
For footwear, I’ve chosen these gorgeous, gray boots.
3. The layered sweater
Here, I’ve layered a warm, maroon sweater on top of a short-sleeve dress.
Here you can see the collar detail above the textured sweater.
To finish off the look, I’m wearing brown combat boots.
4. Layers with a teddy jacket
Here, I’m using the same trick from look 2 of layering a wool skirt on top of a more summery dress.
I’ve paired this with my favorite, sherpa teddy jacket and a pair of black boots. Don’t forget to wear tights for extra warmth!
5. The belted, layered dress
Don’t hesitate to add a sleeveless dress to your cold weather outfits. You can always add layers!
Here, I’ve layered a plaid, sleeveless dress over a white, long sleeve, ribbed sweater.
My accessories here include a black beret, a thin, black belt, a dark green peacoat, white tights and black boots.
6. The cardigan on top
Another way to transition a summer piece into the chilly weather is to put a heavy, button-up cardigan on top.
I’m wearing my brown oxfords again here.
Just unbutton the cardigan if it gets too hot. I’ve added this bow for a girly touch, which goes well with the rosy pink.
7. The layered skirt on a tunic
I can’t stress enough the importance and versatility of layering your casual, cold weather outfits.
Here, I’ve paired a skirt on top of a long, flannel tunic.
And you’ll notice I’m wearing the same bow from the previous look as a headband.
8. The strappy dress over turtleneck
When it comes to layering, don’t overlook wearing a strappy dress over a basic turtleneck.
I love pairing pink and brown together. I think it’s such a good combination that I’ll be wearing it a lot this winter.
Add the sherpa jacket for extra warmth.
9. The overalls
Of course, for me the biggest staple for cute cold winter outfits is overalls. Pair with a patterned, long sleeve top, cozy hat and boots.
10. The layered linen apron
Another layering trick is to put a linen apron on top of a summer dress.
This just adds a little bit of extra warmth, plus my apron has pockets!
11. The sweater dress
My last, favorite thing to wear for winter is this wool sweater dress.
Pair it with tights and matching boots and you’re good to go.
