How to DIY an Awesome Sun and Moon Nail Design
Have you been enjoying all the images from the James Webb telescope?
This sun and moon nail design celebrates the beautiful new discoveries in the galaxy that we are seeing lately.
Whatever kind of nail art you want to create, this technique, using silver-chrome gel nail paint, will stun you and your friends with its beauty.
Tools and materials:
- Royal blue nail polish
- Black nail polish
- Silver-chrome gel nail paint
- Nail dotting tool and small brush
- Clear top coat
- Isopropyl alcohol
- False nails (optional)
1. Start with your base coat
For the base coat on your nails, apply 2 coats of a deep royal blue polish to two false (or real) nails.
2. Add a marbling color
Mix a little black polish into the blue with a small brush to get a new marbling color.
Pat that darker blue onto your royal blue nails, in no particular pattern.
Dip your brush into some isopropyl alcohol.
Blot off the excess alcohol and then pat your brush over the marbling color to make it more subtle.
3. Create your galaxy nail design
Use a very thin brush to apply silver-chrome gel paint to your nails, in a cosmic pattern of your choice.
I’ve chosen a moon and stars design for one nail.
And suns for another nail.
Try to keep your painted designs as smooth and even as possible.
4. Finish your galaxy nail art with a top coat
Apply a clear top coat over your moon, sun and stars nail design.
