Here’s what you need to make a Kids Cookie Costume for Halloween:

Here’s how to create a Cookie Halloween Costume:

STEP ONE

To begin the Sweet Sugar Cookie Kids Costume, gather all supplies. These hula hoops I found at Dollar Tree are a bit smaller, so they are perfect for a kid’s costume. Layout the Sandstone Kunin® Classic™ Felt Yardage on a large flat surface. I use my floor for big projects like this. Trace around the hula hoop with a Permanent Black Marker like my favorite MONOTWIN onto the Sandstone Felt twice. Cut out the smaller circles with scissors. These will become the backs of the cookies.

STEP TWO

For the fronts of the cookies, cut out two rough circles that are approximately three inches wider than the hula hoop. These circles do not have to be precise, no patterns are needed here.

STEP THREE

Using a glue gun and glue sticks, loosely wrap around, gather, and attach the larger front Sandstone Kunin® Classic™ Felt circle to the hula hoop. Again this is not a precise step, just gather and glue. I use the tip of m closed scissors to hold the felt onto the hoop until the glue cools. Once complete, glue the smaller back Sandstone felt circle, so it overlaps the gathered edge. Leave a section, approximately 12″ to 14″ wide open, so the cookie can be stuffed. Repeat with the second cookie.

STEP FOUR

Now it is time to stuff. Take large chunks of Pol-Fil® from Fairfield World™ and lightly stuff both cookies. I want the cookies to look lumpy and bumpy, so I like to stuff them loosely to give a natural effect. This step will definitely take at least two 32 oz. bags of Pol-Fil® from Fairfield World™.

STEP FIVE

Once both cookies are stuffed, secure the opening with a glue gun and glue sticks. I think that the cookies kind of look like those PB&J sandwich pockets that the kids love – LOL!

STEP SIX

Rough cut two squares of White Kunin® Classic™ Felt Yardage that are slightly larger than the cookies. Trim around the edges with scissors, giving the effect of icing on the cookie. Attach the icing pieces to the tops of the cookies with a glue gun and glue sticks.

STEP SEVEN

Pick several colors of rainbow-colored Kunin® Classic™ Felt Craft Cuts. We looked at some actual sprinkles and selected Red, Candy Pink, Orange, Yellow, Neon Green, Brilliant Blue, and Bright Orchid. Measure and cut two rectangles one inch wide by three inches long from each color of felt. Round all four corners using scissors to get that sprinkle effect. Attach the sprinkles randomly to the icing with a glue gun and glue sticks.

STEP EIGHT

Measure and cut two pieces of 2″ wide white grosgrain ribbon that are 18″ long. These will become the straps. Attach to the first cookie with a glue gun and glue sticks, overlapping approximately three inches. Dry fit onto your kiddo to make sure that the cookie sits high on the chest, even with their shoulders. To finish the Sweet Sugar Cookie Kids Costume, glue the straps onto the second cookie.
