How to Cut up an Old T-shirt for Summer
Hey guys! I’m so excited to show you how to cut up an old t-shirt for summer. This is a great way to repurpose and upcycle your clothes. Let’s get started!

Tools and materials:
- Old t-shirt
- Scissors
1. Cut the sleeves
Lay your shirt on a flat surface. Cut off the sleeves cutting just past the seamline.
2. Front collar
Cut the front of the collar starting at one side, creating a V-neck, and stop cutting at the front of the opposite side.
3. Back collar
Turn the t-shirt over to continue cutting the collar at the back. Cut out a square shape that extends from the top of the neckline to midway down the shoulder blade. Remove that piece of fabric that was the neckline.
4. Make it a halter top
Now, cut across the back from the armpit hole from one side to the other. This will create halter straps.
5. How to wear
Put on the shirt and tie the straps at the back of your neck.
DIY halter neck top
I love this fun and easy-to-wear halter. Most of all I love that I took something I was no longer using and gave it new life. Give this DIY a try and leave me a comment to let me know how your halter top turns out.
