No Sewing Needed to Make This Lace Top!
Do you need a quick lacy top for an event and no time to make one? You can put together this elegant, stylish top in a few minutes, with no sewing at all.
You need a square lace or crochet tablecloth and a few fabric ties or pieces of ribbon.
Tools and materials:
- Crochet tablecloth 34 inches (85 cm) square
- 2 or more fabric ties or pieces of ribbon
1. Tablecloth
It needs to be large enough to wrap around you and cover your upper arms.
2. Drape it
Take one edge behind your back and drape it over your shoulders, so the tablecloth hangs down behind you.
The front corners of the tablecloth should reach just below your bust.
3. Neck tie
Turn back the edge around your neck to make a small collar.
Gather the two front edges together just below your neck or as low as you want.
Thread a strip of fabric or length of ribbon through the holes in the crochet on both front edges and tie it in a bow.
4. Lower tie
Grab the sides of the tablecloth at around bust level.
Bring the edges together just above your bust.
Thread another strip of fabric or ribbon through them and tie in a bow as before.
No-sew lace top
Turn down the top edge and adjust the top to your liking.
If you wish, you can add more ties down the front or leave it open.
