Turn a Thrifted Jacket Into Your New Favorite Top
Hey guys! I am so excited to show you how to turn a thrifted jacket into your new favorite top.
I had so much fun with this. Since I used thrifted items to make this you will not be able to make yours exactly the same, but this should give you some inspiration and guidelines for your DIY.
Tools and materials:
- Jacket
- Earrings
- Glue
- Scissors
- Sewing materials
1. Thrift and crop
Pick up a jacket or blazer at your local thrift store. Pick up some thrifted earrings as well for decorating the piece.
Crop the jacket to the length you like. I cropped mine at my midsection and I think it looks great. Sew the bottom so it looks nice and finished.
2. Design and decorate
Use your thrifted earrings to decorate the top.
I did this by clipping off the backs and gluing the earrings all over the front of the piece. I added some pearls as well.
Feel free to embellish your look with whatever you like.
3. Dry and try
After the glue is dry you’re all done! Try it on. I love the way mine came out.
