But the Top???…Hmm.

The Leftover Scraps from the Pants May Be Just Enough for a Tone-On-Tone Easy/Breezy Top.

And Easy??? Oh Yes! Watch This!

I Found a Super Simple Pattern. A Tank Top.

Evie Knit Top Pattern – So Easy – Amazon LINK.

But, this one is designed for KNITS. No Worries. We’ll Adjust!

Only 2 Pattern Pieces. That’s Make This Easy and Fast. Front. Back. Done.

First Cut Out the Pattern along the Size Grid.

THE PROBLEM: The Leftover Linen Fabric is NOT QUITE ENOUGH to make this Top exactly according to the Design.

TIME TO BE CREATIVE AND IMPROVISE!

Line up the Shoulder and Side Seams of the Front Pattern Piece. Fold the Pattern Paper in Half.

FOLD THE FABRIC FOR THE FRONT OF THE TOP IN HALF.

Place the Front Pattern (Folded in Half) on the FABRIC FOLD. Cut out the Front Top Fabric.

Not Enough Fabric to create the exact Pattern Design…but More than Enough for a Spunky, Swing Top!

Now for the Back of the Top.

Do the Same with the Back Piece – Fold the Pattern in Half. Place along the Fabric Fold. Cut.

Ready for the French Seams Construction!

Lay Out the 2 Pieces…Front and Back – Right Sides Facing Out.

Sew the Shoulder Seams and Side Seams.

Cut the Tiny Bit of Excess Fabric as Close to the Seam as possible without snipping the seam threads.

Flip the Top to the Underside. Seam the Shoulder and Side Seams Again.

Voila! French Seams – So Very Dress-Maker Fancy.

Now for the Neck, Arm Holes, and Hem. Easy.

Turn Over the Fabric. Finger Press. Pin. Sew.

This Part goes Fast. Sew the Neck, Arm Holes, and Bottom Hem.

Ready for Some Added Oomph?

Add Black Trim to Create a Beautiful Portrait Neckline and a Very Finished Hem.

DONE! Spunky and Swingy!

Tone-On-Tone Is Smashing.

And to Think I was Going to Toss the Leftovers!
