Linen Peasant Blouse

I’ve been craving fall sewing projects lately! (Ya’ with me?!) Since the season has now officially arrived, it’s time to let our fall flags fly! 🙂 I’m starting off by making a simple, linen peasant blouse that I hope will become a closet staple! I love how these romantic/cottagecore tops can be styled with vintage outfits as well as more modern looks! I’m also loving comfy fabrics these days, so linen is a great choice!

Here is the very not-a-blouse pattern that I started with! Yes, it’s my favorite, pull-on dress pattern that I’ve made in so many variations (like my spring prairie dress and rainbow gingham dress)! The top of this dress is just the style I’m looking for in a peasant blouse! Let’s try it!

Using as much of my remnant as possible, I added length to the bodice pattern’s front and back pieces to make a respectable shirt length. I could only squeeze in short sleeves from my remnant, but I think that will be cute!

Pattern construction was pretty straight forward! After sewing the bodice sides and sleeve seams, it was time to attach the dolman sleeves. I rolled a narrow hem around the neckline to make a channel for skinny elastic.

I also added elastic a couple inches from the sleeve cuffs to add a little poof! The finished top is simple but cute!

I couldn’t wait to wear it on a leaf-seeking adventure to the park! 🙂 You can watch the whole adventure in our new video!

I am definitely looking forward to more fall projects and adventures! 🙂 Stay Crafty, Everyone, and happy fall!!!
