1. Make a ponytail and a gap
Make a ponytail at the back of your head and secure it with a hair tie. Leave out a few face-framing pieces on either side if you’d like. Then stick your thumb and index fingers between the hair tie and your head, making a gap, like this:
2. Pull the tail through
Next, pull the tail through the opening, like a sideways topsy tail.
3. Wrap the tail around the claw clip and clamp it in place
While one hand is holding the tail, use the other to open your claw clip in front of the tail, with the teeth opening away from the head.
Bring the tail up and into the claw clip.
Wrap the leftover tail down and behind the top of the claw clip.
Now rotate the claw clip so that the teeth are facing the back of the head and clamp it gently in place.
4. Pull
Gently pull the loop of hair to cover the claw clip.
Add a bobby pin or 2 on the side so that everything stays in place.
