Try This Hack Instead of Braiding Your Ponytail!
Try this hack instead of braiding your ponytail. The result is a gorgeous, faux topsy tail braid that will turn heads!
Follow along to learn how to create this look.
Tools and materials:
- 2 clear elastics
- 2 ponytail holders
1. Make three ponytails
Prepare your hair by brushing out any knots until smooth. Then, collect all of your hair into a ponytail, securing it with a clear elastic.
Next, split the tail into two equal sections, one sitting on top of the other, and tie each off with ponytail holders a few inches below the clear elastic.
2. Pull one tail through the other
Make an opening in the top tail, above the ponytail holder, push your fingers through the hole and pull the other tail up and through.
3. Push the ponytail holder and pull through
On the top ponytail, push the ponytail holder down a few inches.
Then, make an opening above the ponytail holder and pull the other tail through it.
4. Repeat
Continue this same process of making an opening on the top ponytail and pulling the other one through it until you run out of hair.
When you near the end of your hair, you can even pull the braid to the front to make it easier.
5. Secure the end
Finally, remove the two ponytail holders and tie off the end of your faux braid with a clear elastic.
