Tutorial for a Chic New Half-up Hairstyle

Looking for some great half-up half-down braid hairstyles? Here is one of my favorites.

A half-up hairstyle is great for keeping your hair out of your face while still letting the length of your hair show off your luxurious locks.

Tools and materials:

  • Two bobby pins
  • Clip
  • Hair tie
Twisting hair

1. Part, section and twist

Part your hair down the middle. You’re just going to use the top section of your hair, from the corner of your forehead to the part.

Clip off the bottom half of your hair to keep it out of the way. Take a small section of hair from the front of your face and twist it.

Twisting hair

As you twist your hair, move back and grab another small section of hair. Add that to the first section and twist.

Then, again, move back and add another small section of hair and twist.

It’s a similar concept to creating a French braid but instead of braiding you’re twisting.

I love this because it’s so much easier than making a French braid, but you still get the effect and texture you would from a braid.

Keep twisting and adding hair until you get to the back of the crown of your head.

2. Pins and ponytail

Secure with a bobby pin and repeat the process on the other side.

Then gather both sections at the back of your head and tie it off with a ponytail.
