Quick and Easy Heatless Waves Tutorial
In this tutorial, I’m going to show you how to get natural waves with my waves heatless technique!
You’ll learn how to style wavy hair without heat and how to scrunch hair to get beautiful curls. Let’s get started.
Tools and materials:
- Gel
- Leave-in conditioner
- Blow dryer
I came up with these no-heat waves technically because I wanted volume with a more 70s style, but I had no time and I needed to wash my hair.
I wanted something that was going to give me texture and hold without leaving my hair crunchy.
1. Wet your hair
Start with your hair completely wet out of the shower.
2. Separate your fringe
If you want to do it like me, you can leave your fringe out but don’t apply any product to it.
3. Mix gel and leave-in conditioner
Mix 1 part gel with 1 part leave-in conditioner. Since my gel is strong, diluting it with leave-in helps it from being very crunchy.
Mix it very well in your hands so you don’t have any chunks and so you won’t have any spots of gel or leave-in conditioner in your hair.
4. Apply the mixture to your hair
Apply the gel and leave-in conditioner all around your hair.
I like to start by raking it in with my fingers, so I’m not applying too much product in one place and then applying what’s left with my palm.
5. Scrunch
If you don’t know how to scrunch hair, it’s very easy. Come from the bottom up and instead of doing it very quickly, do it very slowly by grabbing each section.
Flip your head around to continue on the other side and make sure you’ve done it everywhere.
6. Blow dry
Put the brush underneath your hair and dry it like that until it’s about 90-95% dry.
7. Massage your scalp
Put your fingers through your hair to your scalp and massage it to give your hair a little bit of volume.
This is going to break all of the gel cast and leave your hair natural and not crunchy, giving it movement. Try not to touch the ends too much.
If you don’t have volume in your scalp, you can also apply product to the roots of your hair.
Easy heatless waves
Here are the results of the no-heat waves. This waves heatless technique gives you a more natural look, though it may change depending on your hair texture.
