How to Create Waves in Your Hair With a Straightener
We all know how to curl hair with a curling iron, but here I’m going to show you something unexpected. Are you ready to be surprised?
I'm going to show you how to get wavy hair using a straightening iron. If you want to know how to create waves in your hair with a straightener, read on.
Tools and materials:
- Straightening iron
- Heat protectant spray
1. Divide your hair
First, divide your hair into sections. You want to make sure that the sections you're working with are no wider than the ceramic plates.
2. Practice the technique
Make sure to practice the technique with no heat first. You first roll away from your face.
Then you want to come underneath that strand of hair, so you're almost creating a loop.
And you pull that through a little bit before going back to the beginning.
3. Apply spray
Before you begin the real thing, apply a heat protectant and protein smoothing spray.
4. Curl hair
Now curl your hair. Rotate away from your face, loop it underneath the strand, and pull a little bit to create another bend in the hair.
Then return that back under the hair, so you're back to where you started, pull a little bit of that through with a slight bend away from the face, and then loop underneath.
You can always take a look at the video to see how I do it on my hair. Repeat throughout your hair, and you’re done!
How to create waves in your hair with a straightener
It seems more complicated than it actually is. The more you try it, the better you'll get it!
This technique creates this really nice and unusual wave to the hair. The overall finish is so beautiful, and it lasts until you wash it again.
This is such a great look for holidays or festivals, and it's great for the upcoming summer season.
