My Favourite Winter Essentials

The recent snowfall where I live just made me pull out all of my winter wardrobe essentials, so I thought I would share some of my favourite things and a few tips on how I style them!
The number one winter essential I have been wearing this season is a puffer jacket. Puffer jackets have resurged in popularity in the last few years and are very trendy. While being trendy, they are also functional and do a great job at keeping you warm in freezing temperatures. My tip to picking a jacket that you will get a lot of wear out of now and in seasons to come is to stick to a solid, neutral colour. Here, I've styled a white one casually with denim and a sweater and know that based on the colour palette of my wardrobe that it will go with everything!
The next essential is a toque. This one has a pom pom which adds an extra detail and makes your outfit look super cute! These are perfect for keeping your head and ears warm on super cold days, but are also a great option if you are having an off hair day. In this look I matched the grey set that I was wearing with the colour of my toque to tie the whole thing together. You will see that I have another puffer jacket here as well, this time a longer style in black. These longer styles are great for keeping your whole body warm, but can be a bit of an investment depending on the brand.
My last winter essential has to be a cute pair of ear muffs. Again, these are a functional but fashionable accessory, so you get the best of both! I have this black pair with faux fur on the ear portion and they go great with every outfit. They don't leave a crease in my hair, so they're perfect to wear outdoors and then remove once you get inside without ruining your hair for the rest of the day.I hope these tips will help you stay warm and trendy this winter season! These tips can be used to style pieces you already own or you can shop similar products to what I've used using the links in the text. Make sure to follow me on instagram  @melissaradford for more styling tips!
