You’re going to love this DIY manicure with the stunning yellow spring nails. It’s one of the fastest and easiest manicures you will ever do!

The method used for this yellow spring nail design uses a gel dip technique that combines nail dip and gel polish to create a beautiful finish.

Tools and materials:

  • Clear gel base coat polish
  • Bright yellow nail dip powder
  • Pointed nail tool
  • Angled nail clean-up tool
  • Stiff nail brush
  • Acetone
  • Peel-and-stick nail stickers
  • UV lamp
Applying base coat

1. Begin with a base coat

For this manicure, you want to do the first two steps on each nail, one at a time.

So don’t do step 1 on all your nails, then step two on all your nails, etc.

Instead, do all the steps on one nail, then move to the next nail and do the same.

Start with a thin coat of clear gel base polish.

Adding dip powder

2. Add dip powder

Now, pour bright yellow dip powder over your nail.

Work over a paper muffin liner to catch the excess dip powder.

Adding dip powder

Tap your finger to shake off the excess powder.

Tip: Whenever you use the gel powder method, for shimmers and solids, you need to pour the powder over your nails.

But if you are using any size glitter powder, you will need to lay your nail flat in the powder.

Cleaning edges

3. Clean the edges

Use a pointed nail tool to clean off the powder from around the edges of your nail.

Tip: With this method, the gel and dip don’t fully dry until you cure your nail, which gives you lots of time to do cuticle and edge clean-up.

Cleaning edges

You can also use an angled clean-up tool dipped in acetone, to sharpen the edges around your nail, or on your cuticles.

Cleaning nails

4. Flash cure and clean again

Cure each nail as you complete it, before moving on to the next nail.

Then use a stiff nail brush to remove any remaining excess powder.

5. Do a second application

Apply a second coat of base layer and dip. Clean and cure.

Applying gel layer

6. Finish with a gel layer

Apply one more layer of gel base to all your nails, but still cure your thumb nail separately from the rest.

Then, wipe off any remaining tacky residue with isopropyl alcohol.

Adding nail art

7. Now the easy nail art

Nail stickers are the easiest way to glam up your bright yellow nails, because you just need to peel and stick using some very sharp nail tweezers.

Applying top coat

8. Final gel layer and top coat

Apply a final gel base layer over your nail stickers. Make sure you cap your nail edges and tips.

Finish the manicure with a clean gel top coat. The gel base layer just under the top coat will keep the top coat from peeling.
