I have seen these trendy butterfly adorned Air Force 1's floating around instagram and I fell in love. What I didn't love was the $200+ price tag. After a little research I figured out how to DIY them myself!

I started with a fresh pair of Air Force 1's. Of course, if you already have a pair you could clean them up with a little baking soda, dish soap mixture. I decided to go with a brand new pair.

I found these tiny butterfly decals on a website called 'The Shoes Girl". They have a ton of different colors as well as styles. They took a few weeks to ship so don't expect Amazon speed on this order.

To attached the butterflies to the sneakers you just have to heat them up. Make sure when you're doing this you keep the plastic on them. It will peel off when the decal is fully secure to the shoe.

You could use a mini iron from a craft store for this but I used my clampless curling iron. It gets up to 400• so it worked perfectly! I just moved it around the decal until it was fully and evenly heated. Take your time with this part, it's like putting on a temporary tattoo.

Before peeling off the plastic covering, I took a BBQ skewer and used the pointed end to push the still warm decal into the crevices of the shoe. This make it look like they were made like this, but it also helped to make sure the decal wouldn't eventually lift off and detach from the shoe.

Finally, when you decal is dry, you can slowly peel off the plastic covering revealing your design!

And here they are! I'm officially OBSESSED and can't wait to create so many looks with them. They are prefect for a simple jeans and tee look or I could dress them up with a black dress for a daytime look. Please send a photo if you recreate this look! 🦋

Would a blow dryer work or something else? Where I live I could not locate a device like the one you used. Nice ideal and I love butterflies.
