How to add fringe to denim jacket
Measure

To kick off this jacket revamp, measure the back of your denim jacket including the sleeves. Mine came to about 51-inches.

Next, you need to decide how wide you want the fringe to be. Measure and mark the material using chalk.

Cut
Cut the fabric

Use fabric scissors to cut a strip of fabric following the markings you made.

Once your fabric strip has been cut out, it is time to turn it into an awesome fringe for your jacket. Use scissors to cut very narrow strips of fabric, leaving a hinge at the top to create the gorgeous fringe. This step is a little time-consuming but the effort is totally worth it!

Pin in place
Attach the fringe

Once your fringe is ready, pin it across the back of the jacket including the arms. With the fringe in place, hand sew it on using black thread.

Add studs

Studs are definitely a rock-inspired detail on this jacket. Add studs to the top of your fringe. I used studs that could be easily pressed on with an iron but you may have to attach them in a different way depending on the type of studs you have. To press these on, I put a piece of fabric over them and ironed.
