Always on the mission to make stylish unique items from recycled materials that are low cost. I thought about how to use up some old fabric and lots of food cardboard packaging and came up with these earrings!

Earring making

I use a cardboard food package as base and draw around a small glass as a guide and then a coin for the inner circle and cut them out.

Cut out cardboard circles

Cutting out the hoops is the next job after using a snip into the inner circle cut around and remove centre.

I stick down the thin fabric with PVA glue so that it adheres flat and completely covers the cardboard.

I use a vibrant spotty thin cotton red and orange fabric thats really cheery fun and playful !

I Add a hole through fabric ready for earring fixings.

I used a sharp pair of tweezers to bore a hole and feed a silver jump ring through. Using round nosed pliers sometimes makes this easier job to grip and bend silver rings in place.

Pierce hole

I also check the patterns are facing same direction to create balances look.

Earrings fixings

Lastly earring hooks are fitted and wow ready to wear!

Put ear wires through

So happy with these truly unique final statement fun earrings!!
