I love recycling broken things ans breathing new life into them and jewellery is a super way to upcycle.

I especially like the vintage old English blue willow pattern as it’s so recognisable and nostalgic.

Materials to make a Broken china ring

I gather the broken piece of china and a blank ring that has open extendable fit any size back. Epoxy resin glue for jewellery and small mini grinding hand tool with hard Sanding stone wheel attachment.

firstly give the back of the china a sanding to rough up surface so that glue holds well.

Safety aware -Be sure to wear protective goggles and mask whilst grinding.

Smoothing edges

I sand the edges to make the piece smooth and no sharp bits.

Next to mix epoxy resin glue. I do this by mixing equal parts of hardener and epoxy on a piece of plastic with spatula. It has a few minutes before hardening so begin to smooth onto back of ring and china ready to hold in place.

Mix glue
Glue back of china

I put the glue onto back of ring and place china piece into position and firmly hold in place.

Glue together

I leave it to dry for an hour

Then look wow so proud of result and ready to wear this unique vintage china ring!
