Remove the pockets

Pocket removal trend

For this first trend, I removed the pockets from the back of a pair of jeans using a seam ripper.

Glue on the pockets

Once the pockets are off you are going to reattach them but in a position that shows the gorgeous darker material that was under the original pocket. Add fabric glue to the back of the pocket and stick it back on. I love that this is a no-sew project!

I am totally obsessed with this pocket removal trend!

Fix big rips

Ripped jeans trend

I sometimes find that when it comes to ripped jeans, the rips can be a little too big.

To make sure that the rip doesn’t get any bigger, use a sewing machine, and sew a zig-zag stitch and straight stitch behind the rip. You can be as messy as you want because it fixes the rip ad also looks pretty awesome!

I adore how much texture this adds to the pair of jeans!

Cut a small square

Covered hole trend

For this last DIY, cut a small piece of denim from some scrap pieces you may have from another project.

Pin behind a rip

To add a cool, denim color contrast to this pair, flip the denim piece around and sew the back of it facing outwards. Then pin the denim piece behind the rip and sew it in place.

Cut off the excess fabric

Make sure to trim any excess fabric from the denim piece.
