3 Trending Pieces Under $20

One of my biggest style tips is not to splurge on a trend right away. The first, and most obvious, reason being that most trends don't stick around for long. Maybe a season, two if you're lucky. And you don't want to be stuck with an expensive item that has no resale value. Secondly, you never know if it's something you will wear often.

So, I always buy a trendy piece at a lower price point to try it out, and then I know I can always splurge if it's something I'm getting a ton of wear out of and will for years to come.

Walmart is my go-to for cute, affordable clothing items. Seriously, they've stepped up their game in recent years, and now I always peruse the clothing section when I'm there. Just trust me, and check out these three pieces I found for under $20!!

Who doesn't love a cozy sweater? The mock neck and soft fabric of this one is what drew me in -- and that it's $12 (you would never know). I found it fits true to size. I like wearing it with black denim and booties. Top of the look with some chic black sunnies.

Ok, these boots make me feel way cooler than I am! This is a perfect example of a trend I didn't know if I could pull off. I loved the grunge combat boot look with dresses I was seeing all over Pinterest and Instagram, but I just wasn't sure if it was for me. So instead of spending $100 on a pair of boots I might never wear, I spent $20 instead and fell IN LOVE. I am always grabbing for this pair, and they are incredibly comfy. A beanie tops of this rockstar-styled look.

This might be my worst worn loungewear piece in my closet. I love that it has a structured cowl neck, so I can wear it for Zoom calls and be comfy plus look somewhat put together. Here I styled it a little dressier, with faux leather leggings and booties, but it goes just as well with a pair of joggers and slippers! And, it's $15 -- I need all three colors.
