The Color Red: How We Wore It

The color red is passionate, bold, symbolic of love and Valentine's Day, as well as associated with the heart. Red is energizing and positive in nature. For some it's a signature color, for others it might be too loud or attract too much attention, but there is no denying the power of red in any outfit.

A simple red cardigan, black top and skinny jeans is a classic combination, casual but polished. Adding a statement belt or favorite pumps takes it up a notch.

Jackets aren't just for the office. A vintage-inspired jacket with a tailored shape in a rich rusty red is the perfect topper to a hint-of-lace trim cami and black velvet jeans.

A vibrant cherry red knit sweater pairs easily with distressed boyfriend jeans and neutral mules for an anything-but-basic everyday look. A flattering V-neckline is great for a favorite necklace stack.

A modern and more relaxed approach to wearing red is to incorporate different shades in one outfit. The darker red topper is a perfect complement to the lighter shade of red and floral print in the blouse.

A vintage poncho wrap in a bold plaid takes a little bit of red a long way. A solid red tee is a coordinating base layer and accented with statement earrings in the same color.
