No-Sew Fringe Skirt
I had a plan to work with fringe! I went out, bought myself a skirt and fringe trim and I was so ready to get started! In this tutorial, I will give you a step-by-step guide to making the perfect fringe skirt. I am so excited to wear my new skirt! It is absolutely stunning and what's amazing is that there was zero sewing involved in this fashion DIY.
Tools and materials:
- Skirt
- Fringe trim
- Scissors
- Fabric glue
Before I could start on this fringe skirt DIY, I had to make sure I had the perfect bodycon skirt. I didn’t have one at home so I went out to buy one but if you have a skirt sitting in your closet, feel free to use it!
I also made sure to buy these gorgeous fringe trims. I think I bought about 5m of this trim. I bought the white fringe because I thought it would make for a stunning contrast against the black skirt.
Plan
At first, I played around a little with the fringe trim. I had to figure out how much I wanted to use for the skirt.
I decided that I would create five layers of fringe. I grabbed a pencil and started marking where I would cut the trim. I also used the pencil to mark where I would stick the trim on the actual skirt.
Attach the fringe
I made sure to open up the skirt’s zipper so that I wouldn’t stick fringe over it by mistake. I started at the top of the skirt and added a generous amount of fabric glue.
I gently pressed on the fringe trim and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. I then flipped over the skirt.
After turning the skirt over, I applied glue to the backside of the fringe trim. I then went ahead and attached the fringe to the other side of the skirt.
The top layer was looking great, so I cut off the excess fringe so that I could use it for the other layers.
I decided that each new fringe layer should start at the border of the layer above it. I went ahead and attached the other layers of the fringe trim just like I had done previously.

I think it might be easier to make sure that the fringe doesn't get caught in the upper levels is to start at the bottom of the skirt and work up.
It looks amazing!!! Great idea!!!
