4 Different Ways to Knot Your Shirt

The knotted tee style is cute, on-trend and a great way to add a little extra style to your look. I'm sharing four different knots that you can do to give your tee* some extra pizazz!

Watch the video above for step by step instructions.

*When it comes to knotting tees, the type of fabric is key. The stretchier the shirt, the easier it will be and the more rigid and stiff the fabric of your shirt is, the harder it will be.

Front Knot

This is the standard knot that you'll see most often.

To create this knot, tie a knot in the center of your tee and tuck the 'tail' back into the knot itself to create a clean and simple look.

Side knot

Wearing your knot to the right or left side is a great way to add a little more personality to the standard front knot.

You'll create this knot the same way you did the front knot, setting it off to one side or the other.

Back Knot

When you put your knot in the back of your tee, it can help transform a loose, long tee into a cropped, fitted tee for instant transformation of a look!

You'll also create this knot the same way you created the front knot, just in the back of your tee.

Hidden Front Knot

This knot gives the effect of a twist front top and creates an effortlessly chic style within seconds.

Tie a front knot and then tuck the knot under the front of your tee to achieve this look. If you're concerned about it slipping, grab some fashion tape and stick one side to the knot and one side to the inside of your tee to secure it in place.

Have fun styling your tee!

You don't need the bulky knot for the "Tuck-in" one, just use a rubber band to cinch up the excess fabric, and tuck it in.

Yep, that works great too! I find that when I do the knot versus a rubber band, that it tends to stay up better when I tuck it in. If the shirt isn't as stretchy, a rubber band may be the better way to go. Thanks for sharing!
