Time to up your fashion game! I've listed 5 simple style tips to help you to elevate your look, no matter your budget.

Adding a pair of sunglasses is a quick, easy way to elevate any outfit. Go for big, dark lenses for ultimate hiding-from-the-paparazzi vibes. A slick bun and drop earrings paired with shades makes for an elegant, expensive look.

Next time you're putting together an outfit, consider wearing all one colour. This is a huge trend at the moment and in particular wearing an all-black or all-white outfit is timeless while still making a statement.

All white in particular is a very statement look - it always stands out because most people are afraid to wear white!

It's a good idea to read the label on potential purchases when you're trying to elevate your wardrobe. Take note of the materials used in the items you bring into your wardrobe. Better-quality materials will have a higher price tag so I like to find retailers that offer clothing made up of a mix of natural and synthetic materials, like the wool and polyester jumper pictured below. H&M and & Other Stories are two high street retailers that do this really well.

If possible, aim for quality over quantity and save up for really special pieces like a cashmere coat or jumper.

Another way that you can elevate your wardrobe is to create a uniform of sorts through your colour choices. Next time you look at a sales rack, think about the colour ranges you're seeing - you'll probably see a lot of that season's trend colour and a lot of bright colours that can't easily be mixed and matched. There's nothing wrong with bright colours in your wardrobe of course, but one thing you can do to achieve a more polished look is to start bringing more neutrals into your collection. This will make it easier to coordinate everything and you'll be able to put together stylish outfits more quickly each morning.

Finally, think carefully about your finishing touches, such as jewellery, when putting outfits together. If you're wearing a crossbody bag with a gold chain strap, reach for gold rather than silver jewellery. Perhaps invest in a classic watch that will go with everything. Have a look at affordable but good quality retailers such as Pandora or Monica Vinader to help build up your collection.
