Create a Floral Embroidered T-Shirt with my Free Pattern download.

I love finding unique pieces of clothing that reflect my personality and style. But when I can't find what I want, I create it! Adding some hand-stitched embroidery to a simple v-neck navy blue tee-shirt elevates it to a one-of-a-kind piece of clothing that is all ME!

Here's what you need to make an Embroidered T-Shirt:

Here's how to create a Hand Embroidered T-Shirt:

STEP ONE

To begin the Floral Embroidered T-Shirt, gather all supplies. I found this cute v-neck tee shirt at Old Navy and thought that this dark blue color would be perfect for some pretty pastel flowers.

STEP TWO

Download and print the Free Floral Pattern CLICK HERE. Lay the Stitch n Sew Stabilizer on top of the floral pattern and trace with the MONO Drawing Pen 08, or print the floral pattern on your printer.

Place the area of the shirt that you want to embroider into the Anchor Embroidery Hoop, I used one that is 6″ in diameter. I like the Anchor Embroidery Hoops because they are plastic and will not snag the fabric.

STEP THREE

Start with a satin stitch and fill in the large flower with Melon Light embroidery floss.

Create the rose using China Rose Dark, by stitching five lines in a star shape and then weave the needle and floss over and under the stitches until the entire circle is filled.

Create a third large flower with Sea Green Light floss in a straight stitch starburst pattern.

STEP FOUR

Once the three large flowers have been stitched, carefully pull the Stitch n Sew Stabilizer away from the shirt. Make sure to secure the edge of the embroidered flowers with a finger as you are pulling away from the stabilizer.

Continue stitching leaves with Grass Green using the chain stitch on the stems and the satin stitch on the leaves. Using Parrot Green Medium Dark straight stitch additional stems, and then add leaves using the lazy daisy stitch.

STEP FIVE

To finish the Floral Embroidered T-Shirt, create small flowers with Violet Medium Light and a cluster of three lazy daisy stitches.

Add French knots in the center of the rose using Beauty Rose Light and in the center of the blue flower using Canary Yellow Medium Light.

Scatter small white and yellow flowers around the main image using French knots for the centers and lazy daisy stitches for the petals. Remove the hoop and the t-shirt is ready to wear.
