1. DIY sun hat with flowers
Tired of the same old boring summer hat you’ve been wearing? Spice it up with some flowers!
Cut up a command strip to secure plastic flowers (or any other stylish decorations) to the brim. The cool thing about command strips? They’re not permanent! So you can switch up your look any day of the week.
Here’s the finished hat!
2. DIY beach bag
If you don’t want to be sharing a beach bag with twenty other people on the beach, think about making your own! This simple bag is super easy to make and only takes a few easy steps.
a) Fold and glue the top edge
Just take a piece of fabric you love and fold down the edge to make a tunnel for the rope you’ll be using for straps. Glue it down with hot glue.
b) Fold and glue the sides
Fold the fabric in half and glue up the sides, excluding the tunnel you just glued, of course.
c) Insert the rope through the tunnels
Thread a thick rope through the tunnels you made, tie it up, and you’re done!
Here’s the finished bag!
3. DIY tassel earrings
These DIY tassel earrings are so fun and so simple. Seriously! Here’s how to make them:
a) Attach a jump ring
Slide a jump ring down the center of the bundle of thread. Then remove all the labels.
b) Tie the top
Fold the thread bundle in half and use a piece of thread to tie up the top.
c) Cut off the ends
Cut off the ends for a neater tassel.
d) Attach the earring hook
Attach the earring hook to the jump ring in the middle, and you’re done!
Here are the finished earrings!
4. DIY sun hat with ribbon
Let’s make another DIY sun hat! Remember our command strip hack from before? Let’s use it again, but this time, we’re using ribbon.
a) Attach the ribbon to the hat
Wrap a strip of ribbon around the hat and connect the two ends with a piece of a command strip.
b) Cut the end of the ribbon
Fold the end in half and snip it at an angle for an easy, stylish ribbon-end.
Here’s the finished hat!
5. DIY espadrilles
I bet you didn’t know you could turn any shoe into an espadrille. Let me show you how!
a) Braid your twine
Using six pieces of twine, braid it together with two pieces for each section. Make three strips of braided twine.
b) Glue down the twine
Cover the bottom of the shoe in gorilla glue and carefully lay down the braided twine. Use tapr to help hold it in place so it doesn’t slip!
Here are the finished shoes!
6. DIY charm bracelets
These DIY charm bracelets are so cute and customizable. You choose the yarn and the charm. Mix and match with your outfits this summer!
a) Add glue to the ring
Glue around the ring.
b) Wrap the yarn
Wrap the yarn around the ring.
c) Attach jump rings
Use jump rings to attach charms!
Here are the finished bracelets!
7. DIY pom-pom slides
These DIY pom-pom slides are the best way to make your average slides cool again, and with a pom-pom maker, there’s nothing to it!
a) Make pom-poms
Use a pom-pom maker to create two, large pom-poms of your choice of ribbon color.
b) Add glue
Add hot glue to the pom-pom and press the sides together to turn your pom-pom into a circle on one side.
c) Attach pom-poms
Add additional hot glue to the slides and then attach the side of the pom-poms that’s not glued to the slide. Go crazy with this and attach as many as you want!
Here are the finished slides!
8. DIY beaded flip-flops
Flip-flops are so much fun to flip because you can get them super cheap and turn them into anything you want! In this hack, we have fun with some beads.
a) Attach ribbon
Attach ribbon to the flip-flops by supergluing one end and wrapping the rest of the ribbon around the straps. Cut off the excess fabric.
Then, repeat, this step except, this time, wrap the ribbon around both straps instead of just one separately.
b) Attach beads
Then, hot glue beads to the ribbon around both straps.
Here are the finished shoes! I think these are a great bridal accessory for a beach wedding or for your honeymoon.
9. DIY painted bag
For this bag, let’s break out the paint!
Attach tape to your bag where you don’t want your paint to go. This will help with neater lines.
Paint between the lines! Add some letters and you’re done.
Here’s the finished bag!
10. DIY sun hat with feathers
For our final sun hat look, we’re using feathers!
All you have to do is stick the feathers in the holes of the hat.
Here’s the finished hat!
