Turn Your Jeans Into a Pencil Skirt

Never throw out a pair of old jeans! Instead, follow this video to learn how to turn your old jeans into a cute pencil skirt.
Tools and materials:
- Old jeans
- Scissors
- Sewing machine
- Thread
1. Cut your jeans
Cut off the legs of your jeans above the knees, or at whatever length you want your pencil skirt to be.
2. Re-do the seams
Open the inseams on both legs.
Now join the seams together to create a front and back seam for your skirt.
3. Shape your skirt
Trim the sides of your skirt to fit comfortably as a pencil skirt.
Sew in the new side seams of your skirt.
You may want to add a small panel at the bottom of the center back, if you need a bit more width.

You can hem your new pencil skirt, if you wish, or leave it with a frayed edge.

Great idea! I am going to do this to some favorite jeans that I saved but no longer fit.
