How to Elevate a Basic Vest With a Scarf
Got a single button basic vest or jacket that’s starting to get boring?
Let’s elevate it to something special! Grab a large, silky square scarf and follow along with me.
Tools and materials:
- Single button vest
- Large square silky scarf
1. Undo it
Unbutton your vest.
Hold the scarf squarely across the front of your body, with one corner level above the buttonhole and covering it.
2. Open it
Holding the scarf against the button side of your vest with one hand, open the buttonhole side.
3. Button it
Button up your vest, trapping the corner of the scarf over the button.
4. Drape it
Gather the rest of the scarf in one hand and lift it over your shoulder.
Bring it around your neck and over the other side.
Arrange the folds of the scarf so it lies smooth and flat.
5. Tuck it
Take the free end of the scarf behind the button to secure it and put it inside your vest.
Tuck the ends of the scarf into your pants or skirt if they’re too long.
How to elevate a basic vest with a scarf
Take a little time to arrange the scarf over the edges of your vest. It’s so worth it!
