Chain sunglasses

Grab your first pair of sunglasses and an old chain bracelet. Use jewelry pliers to break off the back of the bracelet and disassemble the whole thing.

Next, you need to make sure the chain is the right length for your glasses. Use your pliers again to break it down until it fits right. Then simply apply a thin layer of adhesive across the top of the glasses and wait five minutes for the glue to get tacky. Once it’s tacky (and no longer wet enough to cause the chain to slide around) attach the chain to your glasses.

Pearl and leather sunglasses

Grab your jewelry wire and your pliers. Use your pliers to make a little circle on one end of the wire - this will hold everything in place. Next, take a small piece of faux suede (cut to a ¼ inch) and use your wire to puncture a small hole into one side. Then slip a bead on top of the suede, wrap the suede around the bead and puncture another hole - until you get an S like effect. Keep going until you have enough to make a circle as wide as the lens of your sunglasses.

To finish, slip the end of the wire through the small hole that we made in the beginning and secure it with a loop. Once you have both leather and pearl circles made, apply adhesive to the rim of the glasses. Let the sunglasses sit for a couple of hours to make sure they’re perfectly dry before wearing!

Upcycle broken sunglasses

Glamorous sunglasses using earrings

Use your jewelry pliers to remove the hooks of your earrings so you’re only left with the C of the hoop. Next, we need to mold the earrings. Using a dishtowel and pliers shape the earrings until they match the shape of your glasses.

Finally, place a thin layer of adhesive in the area and place your earrings down around the edge of the sunglasses.
