DIY These Beautiful Beaded Shoelaces
If you’re bored with regular shoelaces, here’s a pretty, stylish way to make beaded shoe laces in just a few minutes.
You’ll need beads that are small enough to go through your shoe eyelets and to learn a couple of basic crochet stitches.
Tools and materials:
- Nylon thread
- Waxed cord
- Small beads
- Crochet hook
- Crochet yarn
1. Thread
Thread the beads on to a length of waxed cord using a loop of nylon thread.
You can make them all one color, or mix them up.
2. Chain
You’ll need a medium size crochet hook and yarn.
Crochet a chain over an unbeaded part of the waxed cord.
The chain needs to be about 3 feet long for each shoelace.
3. Double crochet
Double crochet back over the chain for about 12 inches.
Then bring the beads close to the hook and incorporate them into the shoelace, one at a time.
Leave a 12 inch section unbeaded at the other end of the shoelace.
Make a second shoelace in the same way.
