Earrings Transformed From Eco Friendly Nuts

It’s so important to support the environment and so recycling eco friendly Tagua nuts from Equador is a way I do this. Hard and durable so tactile and smooth.
These gorgeous tactile smooth dyed nut slices are just adorable and becoming the choice of many makers and designers now.
I love the design process of choosing shapes and colours and so many pieces to choose from! Some of the slices are with a natural striped pattern that goes right through the nut.
I choose some with pre drilled holes. Tagua nuts are sliced and dyed in variety of colours and shapes and are often called vegetable ivory because of their hard strength.
I use silver jump rings to thread through the holes.
Easiest to put together the components are little round nosed pliers as they make the job easier. Gripping the ring and feeding the Tagua nut through is the fiddly bit but with practise is gets easier.
The fun designing of part assembling the earrings together with jump rings brings them to life and so many options of style and designs are possible.
So happy with my colourful Tagua nut designs
