Tools and materials:

DIY glitter jar necklace
1. Get a jar and fill it
These little jars that I have are super tiny and already come with a string, making them perfect for turning into a necklace.
Fill your jar with whatever substance you have; this can be beads, glitter, a message for a cool message in a bottle effect, a fun-looking liquid, or small beads of salt for a Supernatural-inspired necklace to channel your inner Winchester. Do whatever looks coolest to you.
2. Glue the top closed
Apply glue to the cork lid and cap the bottle to seal.
3. Add an eye hook
After the glue dries, screw an eye hook into the cork.
4. Style
If you want to dress up your bottle a bit more, you can tie a tiny bow. Don’t forget to burn the edges of the ribbon to prevent any fraying.
5. Attach a jump ring
Use a jump ring to attach the chain to the eye hook you screwed into the cork.
Then use pliers to close the opening.
This DIY glitter jar necklace is ready to wear!
DIY Supernatural necklace
Let’s make another one. Remember that Supernatural-inspired one I mentioned earlier? Let me show you how to make it.
1. Fill your jar with salt
For this one, we’re making a jar of salt. I decided to use dishwasher salt because I had it on hand, and also because it’s made up of big, chunky rocks which are similar to the appearance of rock salt they use in the show. I filled my jar up about 3/4ths of the way.
2. Glue the cap to the jar
The jar I’m using doesn’t have a lid so I found this cool-looking, metallic end cap as it fits the top of the jar perfectly. Fill the bottom of the cap with glue and place the jar inside. I found hot glue works best for this as it hardens very quickly.
Let the glue cool for a bit before sitting it upright to prevent sliding inside the jar.
3. Attach a jump ring
Use a jump ring to attach the chain and pliers to close the opening.
Now you have a jar of salt to defend yourself against unwanted ghosts!
Here are both finished DIY vial necklaces.
