Learn how to make an orange and clove soap recipe. This is a melt and pour soap recipe, so it's easy to make for beginners. It's a layered small loaf soap that makes 4 bars.

This has sweet orange essential oil and clove essential oil for a wonderful uplifting fall scent. I also added ground cloves, whole cloves, and orange peel. I have tips for layering melt and pour soap on my blog, so check those out if you're new to soap making.

To make this soap, you will need:

Cut the soap into 1 inch cubes. Place half of the soap in one of two microwave safe bowls or measuring cups. Heat half of the soap in the microwave in 30 second intervals until melted.

Add the cloves and clove essential oil. Stir well. Pour into the mold and spray with rubbing alcohol. Let sit until a skin forms on top.

Melt the rest of the soap in the same way. Add the orange zest and orange essential oil. Stir well. Spray the bottom layer with rubbing alcohol again and pour on the orange layer. Spray with alcohol.

When the top layer forms a skin, place the cloves on top of the soap. Press them down gently with a spoon so they stick in the soap.

Let the soap cool completely and then cut into 1 inch bars.
