Read on or watch the video.
Let's start with the simple belt.
Step 1: Remove the belt tabs and waistband
Step 2: Cut out the pockets with a 1/2" seam allowance a the top of the belt
Step 3: Sew the pockets to the waistband
Step 4: Flip the pockets over and tack the sides
Let's move on to the fringe belt tutorial.
Step 1: Remove the belt tabs and waistband
Step 2: Cut out the pockets with a 5" panel below the pocket and 1/2" seam allowance at the top.
Step 3: Cut 3/8" fringe below the pockets
Step 4: Make larger fringe
Cut 12" panels from the legs and mark a 1/2" seam allowance at the top. Cut 3/8" fringe up to the seam allowance
Step 5: Sew the waistband and pockets to the waistband
Lay out the fringe and pockets. I overlapped the fringe with the outer edge of the pocket by 2 inches. Sew everything together at the bottom edge of the waistband.
The back of this belt is just as dramatic as the front!
