Supplies needed:

  • Sirena Patterns "eye mask" pattern, download it here
  • 1/4 yard of cotton fabric
  • 1/4 yard of fabric for lining
  • 1/4 yard of padding
  • 15 "of 3/8" elastic
  • Sewing machine and sewing supplies (scissors, pins, safety pin or bodkin)

Step 1: Cut the mask pattern 3 times: once on the outer fabric (I recommend cotton), once on the inner fabric (a satin fabric is ideal as this is the fabric that will cover your eyes) and once on the interfacing.

Step 2: Mark 1/2 ”(12mm) batting and trim.

Step 3: Cut a 35 ”x 1 5/8” (90cm x 4cm) strip of the outer fabric. Fold the strip lengthwise and sew 1/2 ”(12mm) from the edge. Turn inside out using a safety pin or bodkin.

Step 4: Insert the elastic into the strip of fabric that you just turned and pin that strip in the center of both ends of the outside of the mask.

Step 5: Place the lining with the outside fabric right sides together. Pin and sew leaving a 2 ”opening in the top center.

Step 6: Clip around the curves, being careful not to cut where you just sewed. Turn inside out and iron.

Step 7: Insert the batting and close the opening with a blind stitch by hand.

Viola! Your eye mask is ready! 🧖🏻‍♀️
