8 On-Trend Accessories for Spring That Will Rework Your Wardrobe
If you want to keep your style up to date, without spending the time or money to go out and get a new spring wardrobe, then accessories are certainly the way to go! In this style guide, I’ll show you some of my favorite accessories for spring, which will liven up any outfit. Let’s start accessorizing!
1. Baseball cap
So, admittedly, everything I’m wearing is pretty classic, but baseball caps are really on-trend this season.
Adding a cap like this gives off a more modern and fresh vibe than just the classic tailored blazer and jeans ensemble. Also, hats are really functional as they keep the sun away from your face.
2. Sandals
Next up on the spring accessories must-have list are a pair of beautiful sandals.
Going for neutral tones will work best, as you can match your sandals to just about any outfit.
3. Oversized scarf
The next must-have is an oversized scarf. The reason why it’s oversized is that you can do a lot more with it; wear it as a sarong, top, or even wear it as a headscarf.
If you’re wearing a bikini or full-body swimsuit, then an oversized scarf works well as a sarong. This is especially great when you're on vacation and you want to cover up.
You can wear this over your hair as well, as if you're on the French Riviera or something!
The only time I would really wear a scarf like this is when I'm out on a boat or somewhere windy. It's great for functionality; keeping your hair from getting tangled or damaged by the sun.
4. Bralette
Ok, I know that a bralette is more of an undergarment, but you can wear it in a multitude of ways. You can put it under a shirt, as shown, in a kind of "I know my bra is showing" way. Also, it’s a light layer, which is excellent for those hot days.
5. Belts
Belts are one of the best spring accessories. They elevate an outfit from frumpy and plain to sleek and chic.
Adding a belt also accentuates your waistline and gives you more shape, especially when you’re wearing oversized items, as I am wearing here. It makes the outfit look more put together.
6. Handbags
No spring accessories video would be complete without touching base on handbags! Handbags can get really pricey, but they don’t always have to break the bank.
For example, the one I’m holding looks super expensive, but it cost me around $78. It has a cool chain-link detail, and the color is gorgeous.
7. Platform flip-flops
I can't believe that flatform and platform flip-flops are back in style. I remember when these were in the first time around. I think it was probably the late 90s or early 00s. They remind me of the Spice Girls!
I love these flip-flops. They were all over the runways for spring. They are super comfortable and relatively cute. Also, I like maintaining a low-key platform; some flip-flops have a chunkier base, which I do not like.
8. Chunky gold earrings
So, chunky necklaces are the in-thing, but I wanted to mix it up by opting for chunky gold earrings. It’s still keeping on trend with gold and chunky, but it's a bit more unique.
Key accessories for spring
