4 Easy Babushka Headscarf Styles
In this tutorial, I will show you a few variations of the famous Babushka headscarf.
You will see how changing the way in which you tie the scarf can alter your whole look. All you need for this tutorial is a large silk headscarf. Let’s jump on in!
Alternative babushka style
1. Twist one end
Fold the scarf in half to make a triangle, and then place it over your head. Twist one end outward.
2. Tie two knots
Then tie the two sides into a knot on the side of your face away from the twisted side.
Proceed to tie a second knot. The longer end of the tie needs to go on top.
This looks very unusual compared to a classic Babushka.
Half-bow
Another variation of this style is to tie a half bow.
Personally, I prefer this half-bow variation.
Royal bow
1. Tie a bow
First, tie a single knot under your chin and then tie a bow on the top.
2. Bring the top forward
Another detail is that you bring the scarf forward on the top of your head.
Ensure that it isn’t sitting right on top of your head, but there is a bit of space.
I call this style the royal bow because you can see pictures of Queen Elizabeth wearing her scarf this way.
You also have the option to wear the bow on one side.
Single knot
The next style is the easiest and the warmest one.
1. Tie a knot
Simply tie the scarf with a single knot.
2. Add a second scarf
Then tie a second scarf over the top.
This is a gorgeous look. The trickiest part is to find two scarves that complement one other.
Also, you can tie this style with a smaller scarf as your first layer.
