Scarves are essential for any autumn and winter wardrobe, but they’re also an accessory that can make an outfit!
As the temperatures drop in Autumn, you can still dress comfortably in a blouse or a fine knit jumper. To add warmth to your outfit without compromising on the style, I would always recommend using a scarf.
But scarves not only serve the purpose of adding warmth, they can also make an outfit! If you wear a bright coloured scarf in an otherwise all-black outfit you can change the whole look of it. For example, in the photograph above I am wearing a simple little black dress with a black leather jacket. By adding the bright coloured silk scarf the whole outfit is changed and looks more affective and the scarf makes the outfit stand out.
A new trend that has become very popular in the past couple of years, is belting the scarf. So once again, the scarf accentuates the outfit by adding colour and also by using the belt it creates the illusion of cinched in waist and making the scarf part of the outfit.
this last photo actually combines both using the scarf of warmth and using it to add style! You can put your scarf around your winter coat and then cinch in the waist. Not only does the scarf now looks as part of the design of the coat, it makes it a more interesting upgrade of an otherwise plain black coat.
So why don’t you find a bright coloured scarf and see whether you can wear it in more ways than one- push the boundaries and see where it takes you!
I’ve added a link to this exact same scarf you can also use a code NONA15 for 15% off!
