Cute Summer Shirt. Casual of Smart, Styled 2 Ways Which is Your Fav?!!
I made a really cute summer shirt and can't wait to share all the details, how I made it and also how to style it two ways, both cool and casual and dressed up smart for a day at the office!!
The pattern is the Melilot shirt by Deer and Doe which you can grab here > Mélilot Shirt (deer-and-doe.fr)
Which I made in the softest Linen Viscose which you can but here > Minerva Core Range Stretch Woven Linen Viscose Fabric | 1285493 | Minerva
First things first, I'm going to share all the details of how I made my shirt, starting with prewashing the fabric, I always do this as I once made a lovely dress which I wore once, then washed it. It shrank and then it wouldn't fit any more. Believe me I will never make that mistake again!!
The first step after we've cut out is to add the bust darts, this gives up a shape to the bodice.
Next, on the right side we're going to add the pockets!!
Next we are going to stitch the back to the fronts at the shoulder seams.
Followed by stitching the button band down at the front edge and then we stitch the side seams together.
Next step, stitch the cute little cuffs on!
We're almost done now just the collar and buttons and we're ready to style it up two ways!!
I absolutely love this look a crisp white top with a pair of faded jeans, so cool and casual
But its so versatile and looks great dressed up with some smart trousers for a day at the office.
Which is your favourite way to wear??
Enjoyed the project?
