Claw Clip Hair Hack

Claw clips have been resurging in popularity again with Y2K fashion trends coming back. You've probably been seeing these cute clips everywhere, so I thought I would share my hack for the perfect claw slip hairstyle every time! This works best for at least shoulder length hair.

Begin by collecting all of the hair you want to secure near the nape of your neck with one hand. You do not need to use a ponytail to secure this as the following steps will keep it in place without any ties. Leave any bang pieces out that you don't want to be pulled back.

Next, create a loop with all of your hair around your pointer finger.

Start twisting the finger with the hair loop and create a twirl. Move your finger upwards while twisting so that as more hair collects your finger moves toward the crown of your head.

Keep twisting your hair until the ends are just about fully secured in the twist. Depending on your hair thickness, you likely will not be able to twist anymore after the ends have reached the bottom of the twist.

Now that the twisting is complete, use your claw clip to secure the bulk of the twist near the top. You can play around with the height of the clip to give different final looks.

Here is the finished look! It's super easy to do this style and after practicing a few times you won't even need a mirror. You can tuck the end pieces in with bobby pins if they hang out or just leave them as I have.

Here are a few of my favourite claw clips lately: flowers, butterflies, regular variety pack, metallic, plumeria

I luv luv luv doing this with long hair..it looks so elegant at the end..one thing I’d do is tuck that end spikey piece under..I just don’t like that it’s not attractive ✌🏼
