What is Eyelighter? Here's How to Create a Cool Eye Highlighter Look

Tools and materials:

• Highlighter
• Eyeshadows
• Makeup brushes
• Eyebrow pencil
• Spoolie
• Gel eyeliner
• Lipstick of choice
• Mascara
• Eye primer

1. Apply eyeshadow primer

To make sure your eyeshadow pops, use an eyeshadow primer and apply it to your mobile eyelid. Take a flat brush and make sure you disperse it evenly. 

2. Fill your brows

Next, go ahead and fill in your eyebrows with an eyebrow pen. I fill mine in on the tail-end and then blend it to the front with a spoolie. 

3. Add inner eye highlight

With a small dense brush, apply a highlighter to the inner corner of your eyes. Pack on the color until you’re happy with the density. I’m using a beautiful lilac color for this step.

Tip: Do not use a fluffy brush for this; you want to add a concentrated amount to the inner corners. 

From the center of your lid, tap on a sparkly blue color and drag it to the end of your lid. Also, go a little above your crease. This color had some lovely brown undertones which gave a nice contrast to the blue sparkle. 

Next, apply highlight right under your brow area. I applied this with a tapered brush and chose a gorgeous champagne eye highlighter. 

4. Apply gel liner

Now, go in with a black gel liner and line your top waterline. 

Extend the eyeliner outward a tiny bit, and right at the end, create a slight wing. 

5. Apply mascara

Next, apply your favorite mascara and start by wiggling the brush right at the base of your lashes. Then, pull it through to the ends. 

6. Apply lipstick

The final step is to apply lipstick. Apply the color to the center of your lips and drag and tap it on with your fingers.

I find that applying liquid lipstick this way lasts longer and makes it more comfortable to work with.
