This DIY Flaxseed Gel Recipe for Curly Hair is Super-Easy to Make

I have a tried and tested flaxseed gel recipe for curly hair that I absolutely swear by! It’s organic, natural, and nourishing for curly hair types. If you want to add that extra “oomph” and definition to your hair, then you really need to try this DIY flaxseed gel. The method is super simple, too.
Tools and materials:
- Whole flaxseeds
- Storage container
- Cup
- Tights
- Scarf
- Diffuser
1. Make the flaxseed gel recipe
Pour two and a half cups of water into a saucepan.
Then, add ¼ cup of flaxseeds. Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat and stir occasionally.
Once it’s reached boiling point, turn the heat down to medium and continue cooking while occasionally stirring, too.
You’ll know that it’s done when it looks like thick mucus (kind of gross, I know, but this is the recipe). Then, let it cool for around an hour or so.
2. Sieve the mixture
Now, take a clean cup or jar and wrap your tights around the top edge.
Take the flaxseed mixture and pour it into the tights.
Tip: Use a spoon to get out all the bits from the bottom.
Now, pull the tights out of the cup and start squeezing out the flaxseed.
3. Store
You can either store this in a mason jar or pour it into a container with a pump. Keep the DIY flaxseed gel in the refrigerator, and it’s good for around three weeks!
4. How to use the DIY flaxseed gel
Now, for the good part! Let’s use this flaxseed gel recipe on curly hair! Apply 3-5 pumps of gel on your hair, and start by raking it through until you feel that all of your hair is coated in the gel.
Apply a few more pumps of gel, scrunch your hair, and pulse at the top.
Repeat this method on the side.
Then, flip and repeat.
Next, cover your head with a cotton scarf for a few minutes.
Lastly, diffuse your hair, and you’re done!
