5 Super Easy Tips to Help Elevate Your Style
In this article, I want to teach you how to elevate your style.
In my experience there are five common mistakes people make that can make elevating your style more complicated. These mistakes may be limiting the way that you dress without you realizing. You should be having fun with your clothes.
Let’s discuss what these mistakes are and how you can correct them so you can be the stylish woman you’ve always wanted to be.
1. Failure to experiment
The first mistake I see all the time is that people are too afraid of experimenting with their wardrobe. Often people become so comfortable wearing one piece in a certain way, they get stuck and always use it the same way.
That is going to limit your cost per wear as well as the amount of times you’ll be able to wear that item. Every time you wear it you look the same and that gets boring. No one wants to look the same way every day.
You don't need to go and buy new things to have something interesting to wear. Experiment by combining different clothes. You’ll get a lot more use from each article of clothing, and you'll have more fun with your outfits.
Don't be afraid of experimenting!
Mix and match different things to see what works and what doesn't.
Use this as an opportunity to find out what you like, and what you don't.
I’d also advise you to think about how you can pair different things in your closet when you buy something new. That way you'll get better cost per wear out of all your clothes.
2, Buying uncomfortable shoes
The second mistake a lot of people make is buying shoes that look nice but are impossible to wear comfortably.
Your shoes might be fabulous, but if you can't walk properly and you don't feel comfortable It will actually detract from your look.
When you're comfortable it shows, and you are free to be yourself. Prioritizing your comfort will elevate your style.
3. Buying more than one of the same items
The third mistake you're making is buying a lot of the same things. You find an article of clothing that you like, and you get it in every color they offer.
You end up feeling like you look the same every day. In time it gets harder to break out of your comfort zone.
This used to happen to me because I wear a lot of black. I’d go to my closet and all I’d see was black. There was a time in my life that I would only wear black. It became difficult for me to break out of that.
Eventually I started using more color. Adding some variety makes getting dressed a lot more fun.
4. Holding on to things that don’t fit
The fourth mistake is that you keep a lot of pieces that do not fit you in your closet. Maybe you're saving them for when you lose five pounds or gain five pounds. Just get rid of these items. If they're in good condition you can try to sell or donate them.
These items will just remind you that you're not the weight you want to be, and that is not going to do anything positive for you.
These things take up space in your closet, making it harder to find things you want to wear. Get rid of that stuff and make space for things that flatter you.
5. Holding on to old clothes
Odds are, you have a lot of old clothes you never wear taking up space in your closet. Maybe you feel guilty about getting rid of them because they’re still in good condition. Perhaps you have trouble letting go because you used to love them. I recommend getting rid of old clothes.
If they’re in good condition, try to sell them. Then you can use that money to buy new things. If you can't sell them, donate them. Give them to a friend or a family member.
Make space for new things you can enjoy right now. Even if you don't replace them with new things, just having a little bit more space in your closet will make it easier to put together outfits.
