We all want beautiful, healthy hair right? So why is trying to find the best hair growth serum overwhelming at best? There are so many products out there claiming to be “revolutionary” but when it comes down to it, are often filled with fillers and ingredients with unknown side effects. Whenever possible, I like to find natural alternatives to beauty products. They seem to work better anyways! For example, I don’t know if I’ll ever find a hair mask that leaves my hair as shiny as the DIY hair lamination tutorial from a few months ago.

Today’s DIY spray-on serum smooths rough strands, moisturizes dry hair, and even helps it grow longer! One of my favorite perks of making your own beauty products is that there are absolutely no fillers or chemicals so your hair is only getting the nutrients it needs and can actually absorb….. and nothing else.

I spray this on my hair before I style it each day especially focusing on the ends where it’s most dry. This serum really is the best hair growth serum and doesn’t weigh my hair down and always leaves it feeling silky smooth and more manageable. I love how quick and easy it is compared to my other DIY hair masks.

How It Works:

Since there are no fillers or extra junk in this beauty recipe, here’s the breakdown of the benefits from each ingredient and why it’s so important:

Lavender Essential Oil: Lavender oil helps make hair shiny, removes dandruff, and helps it grow stronger and longer quickly.

Avocado Oil: Offers intense moisture to dry, damaged hair, prevents hair loss, and strengthens the follicle root.

Water: For this beauty recipe, water is an excellent base since it’s lightweight, can be totally absorbed into your hair (or dries on it’s own) and sprays easily and evenly. Because I use water as a base for this recipe, it doesn’t weigh my hair down or leave it feeling greasy… even when I’m applying it every single day and I only wash my hair every 3 days. If you’re looking for a more intense serum, try Fractionated Coconut Oil as a base and use on wet hair.

How To Make The Best Hair Growth Serum:

The process to create the serum is really quite simple. Just measure and pour the following in your clear spray bottle and shake to mix. Keep in mind that since this DIY hair serum contains both oils and water, settling is normal and you can benefit from the full effects just by shaking the bottle before each use, Store the bottle at room temperature. I keep mine in the bathroom cupboard.

1/4 cup distilled water

1 tbsp avocado oil

5 drops lavender oil
