I love to be environmentally conscious and use things to support planet and these non edible vegetable ivory nuts that grow in Equador are perfect for jewellery making. They are processed by cutting and dyeing and are so tough tactile smooth and durable.
How to Use Eco Friendly Nuts to Make Earrings
I chose these lovely moon shapes as think they will make great dangle earrings and they are bought with pre drilled holes in so no messing about you can just thread your wires through and start designing.
I use a quality silver jump ring and aluminium wire to twist around and make a bail. The round nose pliers really assist in this process as you can twist the wire whilst gripping.
I decide on lime green Tagua moons and beginning the wire threading and making the ear-wires join up nice and tightly .
In just a few minutes as this is a quick process even for complete beginners, I’m ready to fix the ear hooks to the bails. I make sure to tighten with round nose pliers to secure and my luscious lime green moon dangles are ready to wear.
