I love to support our environment by making use of unwanted items and these palm nuts from Ecuador are non edible fruits that when cut sliced dyed make super jewellery.

Tagua nut beads

So colourful bright and tactile these eco beads are so delightful to work with and wear.

Putting in jump ring

I choose a thin grey sliced bead and it is already top drilled with a nice hole ready to feed the silver jump ring into. I use round nosed pliers as these make the job easy.

Adding another jump ring and ear hook

I feed another smaller jump ring through the first one and squeeze tight to keep it all secure. Then the sterling silver ear hook easily allows the hook to slip on and using the round nosed pliers again to secure the hook tightly.

Adding ear hooks

The same process I repeat on to the other earring with a similar grey sliced bead to make a matching pair. Like all nut slices they won’t be exactly the same and all have small imperfections which actually enhance the jewellery and make it unique I feel. They really are so lightweight which is a plus.

So then a little polish up and tidy and the nutty pair are ready to put on and wear proudly!
