If you’re struggling with hyperpigmentation, dark spots, acne, or eczema, this turmeric mask recipe is exactly what you need.

In this tutorial, I’m going to show you exactly why this is the best turmeric face mask by sharing the benefits of turmeric, what it did to my face over a period of 5 days, and where or not it worked.

Before we go over the results, let’s start with my turmeric mask recipe.

Disclaimer: When applied to the skin, turmeric can sometimes cause temporary staining, so please proceed with caution! You may wish to use slightly less turmeric than the recipe recommends.

Turmeric benefits

Turmeric has anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, and antioxidant properties.

These properties help heal wounds, prevent breakouts, fight eczema, reduce scarring, brighten dark circles, and bring out your natural glow.

Cleaning the face before applying the mask

How to use the turmeric face mask

Before I show you the results of day one, let’s walk through how you should be applying the mask.

Step 1

Before applying, make sure you’re starting with a clean face. I used a baby wipe to clean off my face.

Step 2

To apply the mask, you’re going to need an old makeup brush. I don’t recommend using your fingers because turmeric can stain them.

My goal is to remove the hyperpigmentation from my forehead and my chin as that’s where most of my facial hair grows.

Applying the DIY turmeric face mask

While applying, I noticed that turmeric had a really strong smell and, when mixed with the honey, it felt really nice and smooth.

How long should you leave the turmeric mask on for?

Step 3

After applying the turmeric mask all over your face and neck, let it sit for about 40 minutes and then rinse off.

Day 1

This is what my skin looks like directly after rinsing off the turmeric, and I’m already shocked! I noticed my skin instantly appeared much brighter.

Day 2 results from the turmeric face mask

Day 2

For day 2, if your skin feels a bit dry, I definitely recommend making the turmeric a lighter consistency, as I did. Here’s what my skin looks like after I rinsed off the mask.

My skin felt quite soft to the touch, especially on my cheeks, so I’m loving the mask a lot so far. After applying moisturizer, my skin was definitely glowing!

Day 3 results from the turmeric face mask

Day 3

On day 3, I began to feel a bit discouraged. I wasn’t seeing the results I was expecting and though my skin is definitely brighter, it was also much drier than usual, despite how soft it felt.

So, I decided to use more moisturizer than I typically do and see if that changes much.

Here’s what my skin looks like after I moisturized. I noticed a lot of improvement between the bridge of my nose, my chin, and my cheeks.

Day 4 results from the turmeric face mask

Day 4

Today, my skin started looking so much clearer! Here’s what it looked after I rinsed.

You guys, I’m actually so shook! This DIY turmeric face mask is incredible at brightening my skin.

Though there’s still hyperpigmentation on my forehead, I didn’t expect my cheeks to be looking this bright.

I did notice the sides of my lips started to itch though, so I ended up taking a day off from the mask before finishing off with day 5.

Day 5

Here’s what my skin looks like immediately after rinsing, and look at my skin! There’s been no other product that I’ve tried that has been able to achieve the results that I have in just five days.

The only con that I can find is that turmeric can stain, so be careful with the clothes you’re wearing when you’re applying the mask.

I recommend wearing a sports bra or an old t-shirt, something you don’t care about getting dirty.

The best turmeric face mask

I’m so happy I found this turmeric mask recipe. It’s all-natural, so I don’t have to spend a lot of money on it, and the ingredients are common enough, you can probably find them in your kitchen.

So, did it actually work? The answer is…YES! I highly recommend this mask, and I’ve noticed a lot of improvement with the hyperpigmentation on my forehead, the sides of my face, and my chin. My skin is much smoother and brighter and gives me a natural glow.

I have used a paste like this in my hands when I have an eczema outbreak but only for 20 minutes. I am going to try this on my face, too! I wonder if it would be less dry if left on for 20-25 minutes rather than 40? Thank you for sharing. Your skin looks great!
