Take Your Bun up a Knot With This Technique
How many ways can you create a bun? It seems there are endless bun hairstyles and I have quite a few in my repertoire.
Buns are great at the end of the wash cycle, for silver sisters going through the gray hair transition, for date night, an elegant event or when you’re about to work out.
Follow along for this elegant, high bun hairstyle!
Tools and materials:
- 2 hair elastics
1. Make a high ponytail
Start by collecting your hair in a high, tight ponytail.
2. Spread your hair and make a simple bun
Next, spread your hair all around the root of that ponytail.
Then, take a second ponytail holder and wrap it around the hair to create a bun. Fluff your bun out a bit to get the right shape.
3. Make loops around the base of the bun
Take the strands that are hanging down and gently loop them, tucking the ends into the ponytail holder.
Tuck and push all the ends underneath, around the base of the bun.
Continue this all the way around.
4. Perfect the bun
Now, you can easily pull out any pieces that seem too tight. Also, fluff out any sections to create an even look.
I absolutely love this double decker, elegant bun, especially since it only takes me about 2 minutes to create.
It really showcases the highlights in my hair as well.
