Tips to Wear Your Sneakers in Style
I am a firm believer that everyone should have at least one pair of sneakers in their wardrobe. Today’s tutorial is all about how to style your sneakers! Sneakers can be sporty, stylish, and are always comfortable. Learn how to dress to impress with a great pair of sneakers!
Rule of thumb
The first rule of thumb when it comes to sneakers is no-show socks. You should not see your socks above the rim of your shoe. No-show socks definitely have the ability to elongate your leg. The no-sock look definitely makes any outfit look a lot more put together.
Second rule of thumb
The second rule of thumb is a great rule to just help elevate the look. Sneakers are causal so if you want to make the look a little more intentional, I suggest adding a third layer like the denim jacket I am wearing in this look.
The casual, fun look
This look is casual and fun! The wow factor is definitely my bright, pink purse. One of the reasons this casual look is more put together is because I have rolled up the sleeves of my shirt. This makes the outfit look more intentional. A pair of clean-edged shorts is the perfect bottom for this outfit.
Even though I am wearing a casual pair of white converse, the pink bag elevates the whole look.
A pop of color
My green purse adds a lovely pop of color to this look. My white sneakers look absolutely fabulous with my crisp, white tee. The monochromatic shorts have lasted me a few years which is why I always say, quality is important! The no-sew socks are obviously a key element in this fabulous sneaker styled outfit.
The feminine look
The eye-catching piece in this look is this gorgeous blue and white linen shirt with ruffles. This shirt makes the look very feminine and definitely makes a statement. I did a half-tuck with the shirt and added a white Zara bag as my main accessory. I love the clean look of wearing white jeans and white sneakers together. The continuous white elongates my legs and makes me look slimmer.
Sneakers and a dress
This bright yellow, woven basket goes perfectly with this black and white, polka dot dress. The reason I chose to feature this look in the tutorial to show you that a dress can definitely work with a pair of sneakers. We know that sneakers are casual but this outfit is still totally gorgeous because the sneakers and dress combination just work! I would love to know which sneaker look you like best! Absolutely love all the looks, would a 50+ yr old be able to carry these off?
How about 69yr old. I will definitely rock all of these with the exception of the shorts. I wear longer bicycle shorts. I will never stop being me!
